A quick demo and review of the PylePro PDMIC78 dynamic cardoid pattern instrument microphone. This is a great microphone and at very low price. 'Kinda' marketed as a shure sm57 alternative it looks the same and is great for instruments such as electric guitars, trumpets, snares, toms or other loud instruments...

The mic feels solid but there have been some reports on build quality and 'duds' but at that price and the ease of returning gear if purchased from trusted retailers both on- and offline this can't be too much of a minus for the pdmic78.

The sound shape is slightly different from the sm57 in that it is brighter. It has clear mids and good recording quality up to fairly high volumes.

A great alternative, maybe not to replace your sm57 but probably better as a backup or for scenarios where you would not want to take out your expensive mics.
