Prisma Guitars hand builds custom guitars from recycled skateboards. The result is a one-of-a-kind color patter that is impossible to replicate.
What got you started making gear?
I tore a tendon in my ankle skating and I was injured for six months. I couldn't skate anymore so I picked up a hobby.
What gear do you make?
I build custom guitars.
Where do you operate from?
My garage in San Francisco, CA
What about making gear do you like the most?
Plugging in a new project for the first time.
Is this a hobby or full time operation?
It began as a hobby, but now it has evolved into a serios operation.
Who inspires you/who do you look up to musically, IE what gear do you admire?
Of course Jimi Hendrix. I also get inspired by Kourosh Yaghmai, an Iranian artist with very western inspired guitar licks
What pisses you off/what do you like; about the boutique audio gear building industry?
I'm not really bummed on anything, but I really like how tight of a community the industry is. So far I have met so many awesome people.
Are you still in a band or play music and do you use your own gear?
I'm not in a band, but I jam with friends. I only play my guitars.
